“Where’re you going” commando in Taj asked, reply was “Breakfast”
Mumbai, DeshGujarat, 4 December, 2008

In the midst of Mumbai tragedy here is something that might make you smile.

There was an old (83) very deaf, very wealthy Parsi Gujarati gentleman from Hong Kong who was staying at the Taj hotel on November 26th.

At about 8.00 pm he went downstairs to the Shamiana restaurant for dinner and returned to his room at about 9.30 or so, after which he got into his pyjamas, took out his hearing aid and went to bed.

He awoke at about 8 the next morning, went into his shower and came out (still without a his hearing aid!) He got ready in his nicest trousers and a shirt opened the door and stepped out, till a Commando caught him in the corridor and asked him where he thought he was going.

His reply – to breakfast!

He was luckily evacuated immediately.
