It is a great idea to have our riverfront regenerated. However the project design is out and out dumb. It needs a better masterplanner. You can copy foreign concepts but can not make it work without understanding local needs. Ahmedabad needs to think twice before hiring such named architects. Expensive Kankariya throwing comman man out. VRTS making roads smaller and increasing number of accidents and Sabarmati inviting more flooding. I am an Ahmedavadi and doing my PhD on developments of Ahmedabad and am really sad to see such wonderful opportunities getting lost by bad design.
