Air India to start Ahmedabad Frankfurt direct flight from June 1

Air India will start a daily direct flight to Frankfurt from Ahmedabad from June 1. The departure is scheduled at 2:05(IST). Passengers from Chicago and Newark will connect to Ahmedabad via Frankfurt and not via Mumbai as it is now. This would save some hours of commuters.
Also, the Ahmedabad-Mumbai-London flight will fly from Ahmedabad at 9:45 pm and touch Mumbai at 10:45 pm. From Mumbai, this flight will leave for London at 2:20 am.
It should be noted that Air India has opened its operational hub for west-bound flights in Frankfurt.
Detail Schedule
Flight AI 120 Ahmedabad-Frankfurt- Ahmedabad, a Boeing 777-200 aircraft with passenger capacity of 291, will depart from Ahmedabad at 2.05am (IST) and will reach Frankfurt at 06.50 am (Frankfurt Local Time). It will leave Frankfurt at 11.10 am (Frankfurt Local Time) and will arrive in Ahmedabad at 10.25 pm IST) on the return journey.

After lot of bad experiences, this is good
After lot of bad experiences, I think I am planning not to fly Air India again but in case if we fly and for passengers like me from Chicago, this is an excellent option.
We always have to go to Mumbai first from Frankfurt and then fly to Ahmedabad from Mumbai. We usually take AI 126 from Chicago which goes to Bangalore via Frankfurt and Mumbai. We get off in Mumbai and board AI 191 which comes to Newark via Paris and Mumbai and goes to Ahmedabad.
Sometimes, AI 126 is late from Chicago or Frankfurt, so passengers in AI 191 have to wait for us at Mumbai. Similarly, if AI 126 reached Mumbai early and AI 191 from Newark is late, we have to wait at the airport.
This direct flight from Frankfurt to Ahmedabad will save a lot of hassle. Also, when AI 191 reaches Ahmedabad, it is usually around between 2-4 AM in morning and there are other flights coming from London, Dubai, Doha or Kuwait and one flight is leaving for Singapore so there is lot of chaos at the airport. This direct flight will reach at 10:30 PM at night to Ahmedabad and I guess at that time, there is no flight that is coming or leaving so there will be less chaos at the airport.
And last but not the least, people who come to airport to receive us won’t have to stand outside for entire night. We can all reach home early so they can get some sleep as well. All in all, a good decision to start this flight. Can’t wait to go back to India.

Also, Air India should start a flight Ahmedabad-London-Toronto which will serve many customers and will be a very good facility to passengers of Gujarat.
The departure and arrival time should be such that it doesn’t clash with other flight’s arrival/departure time so that there is no chaos at the airport.

Just wait and see! Air India will change the flight path sooner or later with flights to Mumbai first , then Ahmedabad citing lack of paasengers! Only when other airlines take a lead to direct flights will Air India follow.
