Western Railway launches SMS scheme for commuters suggestions
Mumbai, 9 May, 2009
The Western Railway (WR), seeking public participation to improve services introduced an SMS service for all the divisions including whole of the Gujarat state on Friday. The scheme has been introduced on an experimental basis for three months, after which it will be reviewed.
Commuters will have to send their suggestions or complaints to 9004477777 cell number through SMS. Suggestions received will be compiled and on the basis of feasibility and priority, will be categorised for short-term, medium and long-term implementation. Western Railway’s General Manager will monitor each message and direct department heads to act on them.
On April 16, Central Railway had introduced a scheme wherein people could send feedback to 9004411111. The scheme has got good response.
