Western Railway launches SMS scheme for commuters suggestions
Mumbai, 9 May, 2009
The Western Railway (WR), seeking public participation to improve services introduced an SMS service for all the divisions including whole of the Gujarat state on Friday. The scheme has been introduced on an experimental basis for three months, after which it will be reviewed.
Commuters will have to send their suggestions or complaints to 9004477777 cell number through SMS. Suggestions received will be compiled and on the basis of feasibility and priority, will be categorised for short-term, medium and long-term implementation. Western Railway’s General Manager will monitor each message and direct department heads to act on them.
On April 16, Central Railway had introduced a scheme wherein people could send feedback to 9004411111. The scheme has got good response.

Dear Sir,
I am a regular commuter on the Western as well as Central railway. Presently, I understand that for tra vel from Western to Central Railway, all tickets including season ticketsa are being issued via Dadar. As you are aware, Dadar is a very crowded station especially during peak hours. In order to avoid the crowd, I would suggest tickets (including season tickets) should should be issued for changing over at ELPHINSTONE ROAD STATION & PAREL (like Dadar station these two stations are also on the same level). Since these two stations are just one station away from Dadar I don’t think there should be additional charge.
I sincerely wish you would consider my suggestion; the travelling public would be grateful to you for this.

FIRST CLASS LADIES COMPARTMENT IN WESTERN RAILWAY:
PL VISIT THE WESTERN RAILWAY PLATFORM SPECIALLY WHERE FIRST CLASS LADIES COMPARTMENT IS THERE.. IT IS DIFFICULT AT PEAK HOURS TO GET IN THE TRAIN AS ONLY 2 COMPARTMENTS ARE ALLOTED TO US. CAN WESTERN RAILWAY THINK ABT ADDING 2 MORE COMPARTMENTS ON THE OTHER END OF THE TRAIN SO AS TO ALLOW US TO GET IN THAT PEAK HOURS. KINDLY CONSIDER THE REQUEST AND DO THE NEEDFUL AT THE EARLIEST.

Hello Sir,
This is to bring forward the condition of railway coaches in western railway.
Its noticed that daily there are new illegal advertisment of some classes , pan card vendor or tantrik babas stuck all over the compartment,
I want to ask why railways are not taking strict action against those culprits.
The advertisment has their contact no by which they can be easily located.
Would request the authority to look into this matter and do the needfull at earliet.

Sir,
A Local or Mail train between Surat to Nashik Road via Vasai will be very helpful. Presently no train between these two stations. Nashik is a pilgrim place & yet to connect with Diamond/industrial city Surat via rail.Which will helpful between the traffic of Tapti -Godavari basin.

in Mumbai all the local trains have only the same gate to entry & exit. So in peak hour its very difficult to enter or exit from the train. Pls do the needful. You can survey this & confirm. The BEST bus is already following this & getting good result. Pls make separate gate for entry & exit to avoid rush.
