One of the three Surat rape case accused, Shahid Saiyad’s father Inspector Nizamuddin Saiyad has condemned his son’s act.
Nizamuddin Saiyad is circle police inspector in Dholka town near Ahmedabad. His son Shahid had used his Opel Astra car in rape incident. Saiyad was in Surat on the day of rape incident, far away from Dholka.
Inspector Saiyad had switched off his mobile phone soon after his son’s arrest, however he was traceable today.
Saiyad, talking to media said, “Yesterday, Shahid was brought into the court, but no one from our family went there. We are not going to seek bail for him in future.”
Shahid was badly beaten by the public when he was brought for medical check up on Saturday in the Civil hospital.
Shahid runs mobile phone shop ‘M.R.Electronics’ in Janta market. Shahid’s elder brother Nadir Saiyad is policeman in Godhra. His uncle JG Saiyad is Police Inspector in Banaskantha. His grand father Gulam Rasool is retired constable.
Surat police has deployed policemen to guard Saiyad’s residence in Surat, seeing possibilities of backlash by the people of the city. Police has also given protection to two other accused, Tareek Saiyad and Abu Bakar according to sources.

I will congretulation to Mr. Nizamuddin salyad.The criminal act by his son is very bad for all comunnity’s.His family not support to his criminal son. His son damages his family this is very bad. the Govt. of Gujarat done very good job to arrested this three criminal men. Now peoples of Gujarat must be clam and wait for justice, this is for good for our state.

Yes, all those men who committed the crime should be punished strictly by the law. But at the same time, I am little disappointed also by the way things are handles by the police and then a call for strike.
Having said that, why can’t we develop a judicial system which is non-corrupt, efficient and delivers appropriate justice quickly? I can understand the frustration of the public and why they beat the rapists in Surat. But for how long will we keep seeing the mob justice? This is not the first incident when criminals are beaten by public. It has started happening more and more often in recent times.
Reason: Public feels that these criminals will escape the punishment by hook or crook. Either they will use their money, muscle power or political connections. Someway the victim won’t get the justice and that is when the the mob takes matter in their hands.
Mob mentality is equally dangerous as other crimes. A mob has no leader. People then think that OK if I commit a crime as a single person, I will be caught and punished but if I commit a crime in mob, then chances are less to get caught and punished. This mentality should not be promoted. At the same time, it must be understood why public behaves this way and steps must be taken to stop this thing. The only way to stop this is to make strict laws, impose stricter punishments for crimes like rape, deliver quick, efficient justice and compensation for the victim and the family of the victim. This steps will definitely prevent the mob mentality in future.
Equally, associating crimes with the religion is wrong. I have seen several comments on some previous posts on this website that Muslims are the one who do this. They are the ones who do all the crimes. I don’t know how can anyone reach to such a conclusion. Those foreign tourists raped in Rajasthan or Goa or Mumbai or Delhi were not raped by Muslims. So many rapes happen in India. Are all done by Muslims? Please avoid such mentality. Treat crime as a crime and criminal as a criminal. Don’t associate them with the religion because when you associate them with the religion, it creates confusion. When we say treat a terrorist just as a terrorist, don’t involve religion into it. The same principle applies to any crime.
Police also should avoid unnecessary comments and they should also stop exposing what they are doing when the investigation is going on. Give updates and brief media at regular intervals rather than just coming out haphazardly and giving rash comments.

Another issue which is possibly the root cause is the corruption, riches and the resultant arrogance of the children of the officials. A mere police inspector having an Opal Astra !! I am sure his accounting must be ok to justify the ownership. Any beaurocrat from any department from any state may be check at random and the same scenario will emerge. Let’s hope for something concrete. Amen
Seize all the property of the criminals to pay for the fast track courts to grant justice and to prevent future such crimes.
All those who influenced these terrorists against girls/women should arrested as well from their confessions about who taught them bad things about girls/women as weak? Those mullahs/Imam that taught him this should be put behind bars for instigating terrorism against women.
Even the police commissioner should be arrested and put behind bars. How can he retain his police uniform for this attitude?
I do not support the strike call given by VHP, but I do support strongly to strike hard at the root of such heinous crimes. All mosques/churches have to follow mandatory training and guidelines for respect of woman as a Maa Shakti, the strongest entity of our society. Even the Swaminarayanis too need to be taught to fear women and let women govern their organization.

I’d really appreciate the act of the criminal’s father. Doesn’t matter who you are, what you do, time tests u and you gotta make the right decision according to the situation and I guess thats wt his dad has done….so…well done..
Dont be fooled by the father’s seemingly politically correct behavior. Upbringing has much to do with such crimes. Hardline Islamic upbringing especially manufactures rogues as we have all seen.
Sons of Police Officers are really abusing their fathers’ power in Surat especially MTB Arts college campus near Athwalines.
They are like dons of the whole campus of 4-5 different colleges (including a Science college, an Engineering College, a BEd College) and there is a bad gang culture going on there.
When I used to study and live in the Hostel there, I saw these Police sons regularly bringing young college girls to Hostel rooms and exploting them sexually. All authorities including police there are aware of this dirty act and turning a blind eye to everything.
Those rapist guys’ confidence has not grown up to this stage over night but they have given a free license to have sex with whoever they like on campus since a long time.
