Road traffic in Junagadh district have been affected due to incessant rain in Saurashtra region.
The road traffic of Veraval-Talala, Una-Dolasa and Gadu-Chorwad in Junagadh district were affected due to heavy rains since on Tuesday, Junagadh district collector Ashwini Kumar said.
The roads were blocked following heavy rain accompanied with wind that uprooted many trees in the district, he said.
Low lying areas in Junagadh were inundated with water and people have been warned to be careful, Kumar said, adding, however, there was no need to evacuate the people.
Jamnagar district received considerable amount of rain owing to the depression in the Arabian sea.
Porbander also recorded heavy rains since yesterday.
According to the weather department, yesterday’s depression in the Arabian sea has weakened and now lies as low pressure area over Saurashtra and Kutch.
Strong surface winds are likely to prevail along North Gujarat due to strong monsoon conditions, it added.
The department predicts widespread rains with thundershowers across Saurashtra and south Gujarat region.
They also said that the sea will remain moderate to rough during the next 24 hours.

The delightful success of this great Jagannath rathyaatra on June24th, and the humble cooperation given to it from all Hindus (includes Muslims) alike goes on to prove that: from East to West ‘Bhaarateeyans’ are the BEST!
The rain was an surest ashirvaad on all Amdaavadis to live like this in peace and joy so that no negativity comes into their life.
While I am not an expert scientist to decipher the scientific meaning of entire rathyaatra. All I know from experience is that it gives enhancement to our intellectual capacity, and has the power to dispel darkness from our minds to become mindful for the present moment. Learning the art of social relationships is very much part of Jagannathji coming from Dwarka palace.
A humble Thanks to Sh.NaMo (our sher CM) for cleaning the path of the rath as a symbolic commitment to take a pledge to keep Gujarat clean on the path for for all Jagannathji residing in every soul which naturally pulls them to invest in Gujarat with their love.
जय श्री राम!
When Namo prays to Lord Jagannath. He is not alone. 1.1 billion Hindustanis are with him.
No wonder it rained copiously in Gujarat.
God bless NaMo with long life and victory.
LET US ALL WORK TOGETHER AND LEARN TO CONSERVE WATER AND USE WATER FFEICIENTLY AND DO NOT WASTE THIS PRECIOUS NEED. ALL INVOLVED PARTIES LIKE GOVT, PEOPLE, AND FARMERS HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER. LEARN FROM OUR PAST EXPERIENCES THAT WHEN THERE IS NO RAIN, HOW MUCH WE ALL HAVE SUFFERED.. THINK AHEAD… GROW MORE AND MORE TREES… “MORE RAIN, MORE TREES” AND “MORE TREES, MORE RAIN “. THANK YOU….
