DG Vanzara’s two poetry books to be released in Gandhinagar

Two books containing a compilation of 400 poems penned down by Gujarat IPS officer D G Vanzara in jail, will be released in Gandhinagar on Monday.
A brave Police officer of yesteryears, D G Vanzara is presently in Sabarmati jail for allegedly carrying out the fake encounter of notorious gangster Sohrabuddin Sheikh in 2005.
The books to be released: “Vijaypath” (Victory Path) and “Sinhgarjana” (Lion’s Roaring) contain poems on various themes like patriotism, spiritualism and love.
A leading Gujarati cinestar of yesteryears, Upendra Trivedi and well known contemporary political commentator/columnist Vishnu Pandya will release the books that are published by a local publisher.
According to sources, D G Vanjara has sought permission from the authorities to allow him to remain present on the occasion.
Vanzara is the senior most of the three IPS officers in jail in connection with the Shohrabuddin case.
Apart from three IPS officials, more than 10 other policemen from Gujarat and Rajasthan have been arrested and jailed for their role in the case.
