Mohammed Irfan alias Kareli, an Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts accused, was arrested by Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Karond area of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.

Irfan is a resident of Kareli in Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh, The Gujarat police was also looking for him while the Jabalpur police had declared an award of Rs 15,000 for giving information leading to his arrest.

The sources said that the ATS had got information that Irfan would come here for the setting up “sleeper cell” of the banned organisation SIMI.

Information about Irfan’s arrest has been given to the Gujarat police.
