Gujarat produced 15.9 lakh barrels of crude in last 3 years

In a written reply to a question asked by Congress MLA Babubhai Shah in the ongoing state Assembly session, the Gujarat government on Monday said that the state run Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd(GSPC) along with its partner firms produced over 15 lakh barrel crude and 2,238.68 million standard cubic metre gas (MSCM) from the various oil blocks in Gujarat in the last three years from which the state earned royalty of Rs 89.54 crore on the crude and gas production and Rs 69 crore earned in the form of VAT on the production.
The year wise figures given by the government on the production are: 4,07,077 barrel crude and 981.53 MSCM gas in 2006-07, 4,78,941 barrel crude and 725.02 MSCM gas in 2007-08 and 7,04,680 barrel crude and 532.13 MSCM gas in 2008-09.
Dholka block has produced 19.23 lakh barrel crude till 31st May, 2009. GSPC had started crude production in this block in June last year. The state got Rs 6.79 crore for the royalty and Rs 10.49 crore in the form of VAT from Dholka block.
