Vadgam gives last salute to martyred jawan Mahesh Parmar

Mahesh Parmar, an Indian Army jawan from Gujarat, who sacrificed his life in northern Kashmir’s Kupwada sector last Friday, was buried today in his native village Vadgam as per the Vankar community customs with Guard of honor.
Mahesh’s body arrived at his village Vadgam in Surendranagar district at 11:30 am. 12 Mahar Regiment’s Subedar Bipindas Bihari accompanied the body of jawan. Amidst patriotic songs played by a music band, martyred jawan’s coffin, wrapped in Indian tricolor was taken to the streets of the village. The villagers shouted slogans: ‘Shahid Jawan Amar Rahe’ and ‘Jay Jawan, Jay Kisan.’
Later in presence of state minister Fakirbhai Vaghela, local MP Somabhai Patel, MLAs of Viramgam and Vadhwan constituencies, district collector, DDO, District Panchayat President etc. the body of Shahid Jawan was buried as per the Vankar community’s customs.
The village observed a ‘bandh’ today and decided to celebrate this day evey year as a Shahid Divas.
