Divakar Falsikar, a 24-year old Army Jawan from Gujarat’s Vadodara city sacrificed his life in a thickly forested area along the line of control in North Kashmir’s frontier Kupwara district on Tuesday.

Sources said that Jihadi Islamic militants, suspected to be infiltrators, opened fire at troops of Rashtriya Rifles, killing Divakar Falsikar.

Shahid Divakar married just before six months with a girl from Ahmedabad. He had joined the Indian Army with zeal to serve the nation before six years.

Divakar will be cremated in Vadodara with full respect and Guard of Honor. The state government may depute a minister to remain present at this occasion.
