Shankarsinh,Suresh Mehta form Prabudh Nagarik Shakti Manch
8 October, 2009
Two former Gujarat chief ministers — Shankersinh Vaghela and Suresh Mehta — today launched a ‘non-political’ forum, Prabudh Nagarik Shakti Manch (PNSM), to expose alleged failures of the BJP ruled Gujarat government.
The forum will raise the issues of teachers, government employees, policemen, and also highlight other topics related to ‘larger public interests’, Vaghela, who was Union Textiles minister in the last UPA government, told reporters here.
Agitation programmes will be launched across the state to highlight the issues and also expose the misrule of the government, he said.
“Under the rule of Modi, Gujarat has seen erosion in democratic values, traditions because the administration of misrule prevails everywhere,” the Congress leader alleged.
Terming Modi’s government a failure in administration and governance, the Congress leader said not a single section of the society was happy with the present government.
Our say
This will just add up more press releases, statements, dharna and symbolic fasts.
The real people will not join Mehta and Vaghela because both of them were failure when they were in power.
In last assembly election, Mehta didn’t contest at all. His almost all loyalists joined back the BJP during Lok Sabha elections. Vaghela lost last Lok Sabha election badly early this year and his own party(Congress) doesn’t consult him on local issues.
Such old politicians who are thrown out of the politics by the people, don’t want to retire. They should now enjoy and spend the money they made when they were in power.
