Be it chopping the nation like a meatpiece by greedy hawks aka salivating looters in garb of politicians; converting tribals to other religions; or now offering reservation to minorities. While we do pay some passive attention to these stuffs (thanks to news channels and new papers), there are many more that we choose to ignore. Some examples are the decay in the political leadership in the country, growing influence of naxalism and many more. I sincerely feel that the problems is with the Hindu religion itself. Basically a tolerant, albeit easily domitable, society, that got spolit by a few people in upper casts, evolving into one of the most divided community that was invariably self destructive, now stands puzzled and clueless, staring at horizon that seems to bring many unpleasant surprises. Contraction in the available resources, be it land or power or jobs; a nation that seems to be on the verge of next division, repeating 1947, and probably this time not in two but many more parts. This is crisis, to which we, the hindus (pls excuse me if that sounds nonsecular) are blind to, has potential to enslave us once again on a scale that is going to be worse than our slavery for centuries to muslim invaders and english colonizers. The tragedy is, this time, there are lesser chances of likes of shivajis and bhagat singhs as our young turks are much happier celebrating their independce in pubs or capitalizing their intellact in corporates while giving a damn to their religion, nation and politics. So what a typical middle class hindu should do? Well, sit back, and watch TV news channels that show how muslims in gaziabad are being targeted, or how 'My name is Khan' is going to show the plight of a community, the good work christian missionaries are doing, and how Hindus are unleashing the wave of terror; and criminals in the grab of saffron uniform who seem to be patronizing them. Pity! The solution is a new sort of revolution: a mass scale socio-political-financial education to the original inhabitants of this nation. The education that informs that present situation, how their future will be shaped by the happenings. And this should be without any political affiliation. Too bad their environment never gave them the prism of a peaceful outlook. As a result they haven't even learned the ABCs of human living, which is ALL CITIZENS ARE EQUAL.
