Ahmedabad-Mumbai non-stop AC Duronto train’s launch today

-A new AC non-stop Duronto train connecting Ahmedabad and Mumbai will hit the track today.
The launching ceremony will be held in Mumbai.
-The train will depart from the Ahmedabad railway station(11.40 pm) and also from Mumbai central railway station(11.15 pm) thrice a week alternatively.
-A new Duronto will facilitate shortest possible duration rail journey to passengers between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. While the Shatabdi Express takes about seven hours and Karnavati requires seven and half hours for one-way trip between Ahmedabad and Mumbai, the Duronto will take only six hours to complete the same journey.
-Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced to start Duronto in her budget early this year.
-The first Duronto between Ahmedabad and Mumbai will be flagged off from Mumbai at 2 pm on Thursday. The train will reach Ahmedabad at 8:40 pm and leave Ahmedabad for Mumbai on the same day at 11.40 pm. It will reach Mumbai in 6.35 hours at 6.30 am.
-The launch would be marked by Maharashtra Chief Minister via video conferencing.
-The train will leave Ahmedabad on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday while the same will leave Mumbai on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
-The fully air-conditioned train will have total 15 coaches:one 1st AC, two 2nd AC, four 3rd AC and five economy class 3rd AC coaches.
-The economy class will have more seats as compared to the routine 3rd AC coach.
-The routine 3rd AC coach will have 64 berths while the economy class 3rd AC coach will have about 78 berths.
-The train would travel to Mumbai from Ahmedabad thrice a week: on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. It will depart from the Kalupur railway station in Ahmedabad at 11.40 pm, and reach Mumbai at 6.15 am.
-The train will leave Mumbai on the journey to Ahmedabad at 11.15 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
-Cost of journey in Duronto is less than Shatabdi express and third AC sleeper coach’s ticket cost(Rs 540) is less than Gujarat Mail(Rs 594).
-Special Third AC Economy class ticket cost is Rs 490. This is the perfect option for middle class traveler.
-Complete train is AC sleeper.
-Duronto’s first class AC ticket cost is Rs 1475 and second AC ticket cost is Rs 808.
