Vadtal town observes strike protesting attack by Muslims

Central Gujarat’s Vadtal town observed strike on Monday after a group of 35 Muslims of Ravli village attacked Hindus in Lakshminarayan school here. A group of Muslims attacked the Hindus with sharp weapons, and sticks. Total five Hindus were injured. Police lobbed two tear gas shells to control the situation.
According to sources, Vadtal’s Lakshminarayan school had organized a sports festival in which a Muslim boy allegedly harassed a girl. When he was scolded for his behavior he along with other Muslims started hand-to-hand fight with other boys. Nadiad taluka BJP General Secretary Prakash Thakor alias Amitbhai, Ramanbhai, Hardikbhai, Punambhai, Kanubhai and two students intervened in this fight and situation was brought to control. But after some time, a group of Muslims of Ravli village suddenly came to the school campus with sharp weapons and sticks on bikes and tempo and attacked those who had intervened in the fight.
District police officials rushed to the place and started the investigation. Shops remained closed to protest the attack. Police detained several suspects from Ravli village.
