“If you want to see Satyug, come to my factory. I will show you Satyug,” sad Sevantilal P Shah of Venus Jewels, Surat today at Sandipani Vidyapeeth near Porbandar after receiving Rajshree award constituted by famous kathakar Shri Ramesh Bhaiji. A typical Gujarati Jain businessman Sevantibhai is considered as the richest person in Surat, the fastest growing city of India.

“Last year when there was a great economic slow-down, all other diamond units decided to shut-down for some period. Getting this news, my workers came to me and asked whether our company would survive or not. I told them they don’t need to worry and the work will go on as normal. After sometime when all diamond units were closed and newspapers were full of the news about slow-down and its impacts in the market, my workers came to me again. They requested me to cut-down their salary so that our company can survive in business in the time of great slow-down. I told them, there is no need to take such step as of now. Some youth diamond artisans literally cried. I told them to work bit harder in this difficult time and they followed my request. Today, the slow-down period has ended, but my workers are still working hard and we are getting good business. If you want to see Satyug, come to my factory. The real people suitable for this award are my workers,” he added.

The award ceremony was attended by Shrimati Kokilaben Ambani among others.

Giving the award Shri Rameshbhai Oza said, “Whenever I go to Surat, I come to know something new about Sevantibhai’s newest philanthropy. His such acts have shaped many helpful projects for the people. Sevantibhai’s billionaire family has given Jain monks to our society. Sevantibhai’s factory has earned such a prestige and reputation that once his firm gives gradation to diamond, no body can challenge it.”
