Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 23 February, 2010

Farmers protesting Nirma’s cement plant over a water body land near Mahuva in Saurashtra will walk from Ahmedabad’s Gandhi Ashram to reach Gandhinagar on February 25.
The farmers have prepared a memorandum signed by their blood signature.
About 11,111 farmers will participate in rally.
It should be mentioned here that the government of Gujarat has allotted a large land to Nirma company for Cement plant against the wish of locals who are protesting this decision of state for last several month under the leadership of Mahuva BJP MLA Kanubhai Kalsaria who was attacked this week by unidentified persons when he was coming back from one of the protest meetings.
As Thursday, February 25th is Budget day in Gujarat and Gujarat assembly session would be on, there are chances of clashes between police and protesters.
A rally in Mahuva already witnessed violence early this week.
