AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has extended support to agitation led by BJP MLA Dr. Kanubhai Kalsaria against under construction Nirma company’s cement plant in Mahuva area of Bhavnagar district in Gujarat.
Rahul Gandhi recently visited Anand based IRMA to attend a conference, in which ex-MP Sanat Mehta was also present as participant. Mehta introducted Rahul Gandhi to Dr. Kanubhai Kalsaria. Rahul Gandhi heard Kalsaria on Nirma plant issue, and latter asked Youth Congress General Secretary Prakash Gurjar, Amreli district Youth Congress President Pradipbhai Kotadia and Rajula Youth Congress President to carry out survey and inform him, whether majority of people in Mahuva area are with Dr. Kanubhai Kalsaria on Nirma issue or not?
When a survey was carried out, as many as 85% locals were found in support of Kanubhai’s agitation against Nirma plant. Rahul Gandhi was informed about this, and he immediately gave green signal to Youth Congress to join the agitation led by Dr. Kalsaria.
According to Prakash Gurjar, A seminar will be organized at Ahmedabad’s Thakorbhai Desai hall on Friday 20th August at 3.30 pm on Mahuva Nirma cement plant issue. The experts will give lectures on disadvantages of Nirma’s cement plant.
It should be mentioned that Gujarat High Court had cleared Nirma’s cement plant works with some conditions, and the issue was almost settled. However Dr. Kanubhai Kalsaria had vowed to go to Supreme Court where the matter is pending. Rahul Gandhi’s support has now renewed the agitation.

The people giving to support to the agitation against a tax-paying Nirma Cement plant are the zamindaar who don’t pay any taxes, Don’t want to pay any taxes, want to continue to subdue discriminative caste-system initiated by the British.
If our Maa Bhaarati ane Maa Gangaa, and if our purchasing power (currency), ultimately eventually our Hindutva has to be protected then either these Mahuva zamindaars need to dole out 15000 crore of taxes from the free water they are earning from the cement-based Narmada canals or allow Nirma to produce cement so that majority of farmers of Gujarat are protected and saved (as can be seen by the sacrifice made by the Vapi-based farmers) who have contributed immensely in the paying of Gujarat’s infrastructure in the form of allowing industries to be a complimentary neighbor for their farming economy,

The reason the goondaaraaj Kangress can go against the Nirma plant is because they feel they have nothing to loose by hurting our currency, our infrastructure, our economy.
This speaks volumes of how the goondaaraaj Kangress deals exchange rate mainly in international dollars while parking their illicit funds in black banks around the world through their middle agents like Ottavia Quattrrocchi. Shame shame on Kangress chamchaao
The best answer to solve is to provide legitimate facts and measures as done in courts.

Those opposing industrialization would have some credibility, if they can provide a rational alternative.
you either produce cement from thin air, and refuse to use the farm subsidies, and stop complaining for not receiving Maa Narmada waters, OR a better alternative is that you become realistic and allow a legitimate cooperation to produce cement for vital infrastructural resources and on the same token allow the funding of our infrastructural projects (from the tax-paying salaried class) as would be the case from the Mahuva project.
You cannot keep on looting the (Govt.) public’s money indefinitely, while not impacting our purchasing power (currency). Understand the problem in a non-biased manner. I have full respect for Dr.Kalsariya and his intent is noble, however I am afraid to say, he is wanting some patience and a cool minded long-term thinking of discussing this matter in a cooperative mindset. Instead of opposing the Nirma plant, he would do well to oppose the zamindaari system prevalent in Mahuva that is subjugating the majority of population. Nirma plant is a lot more professionally run (public company), अने lot more transparent under the scanner of comprehensive labor and environmental laws, and of course has a lot more accountability on their shoulders than compared to the zamindaars who don’t want to pay any taxes, exploit the poor workers, keep on living in the British-style discriminative caste-system
If the industries violate the environmental laws or if they violate the labor laws, then certainly raise the issue to stop them, it makes sense. But when they are proven clean in courts to the benefit of majority population, then why oppose unnecessarily like the Medha Patkar?
If you have to oppose in-principle then oppose the exploitation, oppose the corruption, oppose the discrimination. Make a positive difference as done by the Narendra Modi. But don’t oppose industries blindly as now a days farming fertilizers, farming pay-scale practices, are found to be lot more exploitative, corrupt, pollution oriented.
Real Farmers are those who pay tax-returns showing their true earnings from produce, who pays to farm workers fairly, and who learn to be cooperative in a modern world. Those real farmers are severly missing in most parts of country, and therefore Govt. has no choice but to invite industries for sustaining our independence, our culture Hindutva

Rahul Gandhi has political manners in blood. He accepts the reality whether it is the views of opposition party or cong. While child bjp has egotic leaders. They do not ABCD of politics & oppose UPA Govt. It is nothing but only frustration bjp as they are kursiless since 10 years in center.
Rahul Gandhi wants to set an example among countrymen. Ppl must have seen him when he picked up polythene bag from the ground & placed it in the garbage bin. bjp leader do not leave their ego & do not accept simplicity in public life that Rahul Gandhi or Mamta benarjee show.
None of you above commentors realize the plight of poor farmers, obviously becuase you are not losing your land for farming or for raising your cattle, you all are sitting in your furnished homes with cars to ride in and for all your modern comforts you need people like Karsanbhai, Narendra Modi and companies like Nirma. You have also not tried to understand Dr. Kalsaria’s point, he is not against making cement or building roads and buildings or creating jobs, those are the exact things he is fighting for. In Nirma case what is happeneing is one mega company wants to eat up all the profit by setting this mega plant that is mostly automated and needs very little labour inputs. Nirma wants to set up a plan on water body which is becoming a lifeline for local 25,000 farmers. Dr. Kalsaria is advocating that instead of one huge plant many small cement plants can produce same amount of cement and create local jobs instead of Nirma’s plan to bring all the high level officials and almost no creation of local jobs to employ these farmers.
You all talk about looking at it from large scale, lets look at large scale when many such plants come up in Gujarat thanks to Mr. Modi’s close ties with industrial houses of our country, many hudreds of farmers get displaced, many thousands of hectares of farming land is dug up to take the minerals out which will let all the salt water inland. Do you see where we are heading? you may see big buildings and more roads in coming 10 or 20 years but after that Gujarat is no longer going to produce grain for its own sustainability, it will have to import sweet water because our land would have lost it. We can not neglect our source of livelihood, that is our land and our farmers If people like Modi reaches the level of leading our nation ever (which is very unlikely) than he will only bring large scale disasters for the future of this country and he is already doing this at the state level. Fruits of his actions will only be seen after few decades and therefore all you narrow visioned individuals can not appreciate, let alone support, Dr. Kalsaria’s efforts to save the precious land of Gujarat and livelihoods of our future generations.
If Dr. Kalsaria’s own party will not hear their constituents plight for more than two years and High Court is also doing the same politics like Modi’s than there is nothing wrong in welcoming whatever support he can get- be it from Congress or Shiv Sena or Communist party, after all it is about saving the poor and saving Gujarat land and not about saving a Party, as corrupt as BJP and its CM as power hungry as Modi. I totally agree with “No Gujarati”. comments written by so called Modi bhakts are nothing but headless. I’m from Mahuva not a farmer but a businessman and owns my business. IF Nirma comes to Mahuva then it will benefit me very well but I strongly feel that this should not happen. I’m completely with Dr. Kalsaria who is the only true mass leader I saw, and I totally agree with farmers demand. PAVAN NANAVATI , HARI GAMDIYO or rest are looking so cheap to me when instead of finding a real problem they just talk about MODI .
