EVM maker central govt firm BEL denies possibility of rigging
Gandhinagar/Vadodara, 22 October, 2010
Amid EVM rigging cry of Gujarat Congress, the Government of India’s undertaking company Bharat Electronic Limited(BEL) that has manufactured the EVM in question(by Congress) has clarified in a written communication to the state election commission of Gujarat, that there is no possibility that vote given to one candidate can actually go to other candidate in Electronic voting machine.
The senior DGM(MCS/EM) of BEL has written a letter to the Gujarat state election commission secretary stating that an opinion of EVM design team was sought and has been received on Padara complain, according to which the only error possible, that too in rarest of the rare case, is that, when a person push a button for one candidate, there could be lights flashing opposite maximum four candidates due to technical error. However even in such case, vote would definately go to the desired candidate of voter, and there is absolutely no possibility that vote would go to another candidate.
A copy of the BEL communication was sent to Vadodara district administration by the state election commission office.
