How important is one single vote? Ask these Gujarat candidates

In democracy, even one vote is important. Look at the Gujarat local polls election result today. There are two incidents that support the statement, and show importance of each vote.

In Surat District Panchayat’s Sayan seat, Congress candidate Darshan Nayak was declared victorious by 1 single vote margin. While Nayak got 8471 votes, his rival candidate J.D.Patel got 8470 votes.

In Jalalpor Taluka Panchayat election, Mandir village’s BJP candidate Vikrambhai Maheta was declared victorious by 1 vote margin. While Maheta got 1876 votes, his rival Congress candidate got 1875 votes. Congress candidate demanded recounting, but was overruled.

In Bhachau Taluka Panchayat poll, Shikarpur seat’s Congress candidate Bharatbhai Thakkar got 1016 votes, just one vote more than his rival BJP candidate Ramji Jagga Patel who got 1015 votes.

In Porbandar Municipality poll, two candidates of BJP got same number of vote. Winner candidate was selected by picking up chit by the election official.
