Some facts about proposed Girnar ropeway project.

Girnar ropeway if built, would be the biggest ropeway project in India.

Cable cars will move at estimated speed of about five meter per second.

Original project cost of the project was Rs. 32 crore, however now it is about Rs. 89 crore to Rs. 100 crore.

Proposed ropeway will carry 1000 people per hour according to an estimate.

As per current design, it will take about 9.5 minutes to reach Ambaji mandir from Bhavnath taleti through ropeway.

In this course the passengers will cross about 1700 sq.meter jungle that also has lions, crocodiles and other wild animals.

The project was first conceived by Raj Ratna Nanji Kalidas in year 1972. Junagadh’s district collector had submitted a proposal of this project to the state government in 1980.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi had performed ground breaking of the project in May 2007.

Usha Brecko company was awarded the work of the project in 1994.
