A 200 year old well, which is believed to be constructed by the hands of Lord Swaminarayan, was found during an excavation process at Gomti Talao of Vadtal Dham.
The Swaminarayan community had recently started a project of refurbishing Gomti Talao at Vadtal Dham. With the budget of Rs 4 crore the project was going in full force. It was at this time when during the excavation process, a 200 year old well was found. The well is believed to be constructed by Lord Swaminarayan.
After becoming cognizant of the incident a crowd of anxious devotees emerged at the site in order to get water from the well as ‘Prasad’. The devotees believe that Lord Swaminarayan consumed water from this well; hence the well holds an important place in their hearts. The well which was made by bricks, chuno and kaali maati, has a constant flow of water.
Kothari swami of the temple stated that the well has a significant importance since it is related to Lord Swaminarayan. The Shreeji Bhagwan Sants use to give this water to the devotees to quench their thirst. Thus to maintain the history of the well, it will be beautified and conserved.
