Modi,Farooq Abdullah to launch Rs 100 cr sustainable energy fund at IIMA

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) will launch the “Indian Fund for Sustainable Energy” (INFUSE) with an estimated fund size of Rs 100
crores in collaboration with the Government of India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Technology Development Board (TDB) and BP (British Petroleum). The Honorable Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah (Minister, New and Renewable Energy, Government of India) and Shri Narendra Modi, Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat will launch the fund on August 25, 2011 at 5.30 p.m. at the RJMCEI Auditorium, IIMA main campus.

INFUSE is the first of its kind private-public-academia partnership which the IIMA will support to incubate, build and support sustainable energy enterprises across the country. INFUSE shall be managed by IIMA’s Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) and aims at bringing together other like-minded corporates and organizations to work collaboratively to bridge India’s energy demand-supply gap through development of sustainable entrepreneurial solutions.

Other luminaries who would be present at the event shall include Shri Deepak Gupta (Secretary, MNRE), Shri Justin Adams (Head, BP Ventures), Shri HK Mittal (Secretary, Technology Development Board), Prof Samir K Barua (Director, IIM Ahmedabad) and Prof Rakesh Basant (Chairperson, CIIE, IIM Ahmedabad).
