Rs 6,013 crore road project in Rajasthan, Gujarat approved

The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure, government of India on Thursday approved a Rs 6,013 crore project for widening of National Highways stretches in Rajasthan and Gujarat under Road Transport and Highways Ministry’s flagship road building programme NHDP. This decision has made a way for implementation of the project for development of six laning of Kishangarh-Udaipur-Ahmedabad section… in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Of the Rs 6,013.70 crore project cost, Rs 626.40 crore will be spent on land acquisition, rehabilitation and resettlement and preconstruction purposes, a statement said.
The widening will be undertaken on design, build, finance, operate and transfer ( DBFOT) basis in build, operate and transfer ( BOT) toll mode of delivery.
The project when completed will reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic plying between Kishangarh and Ahmedabad which will connect to Vadodara and Mumbai in the West and Delhi in the East.
It will develop tourism activities and would boost economic activities in the State of Gujarat and Rajasthan, the statement said.
