Narendra Modi visits quake affected areas of Junagadh district


Junagadh, 21 October, 2011

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today afternoon visited quake affected villages in Junagadh district and said that survey work will be completed quickly and entire administration of Gujarat government will be ready to extend help to those affected due to this quake.

Shri Modi reached Junagadh district’s highest affected village Maliya hatina and Talala tauka’s villages. Modi met families affected by quake and wished for better recovery of those injured.

Chief Minister went to Ladudi and Jalandhar villages and appreciated the bravery of local people who belong to the land of Gir lions.

Chief Minister said that when he came back to Gandhinagar after completing his day-long Sadbhavana mission fast at Navsari, he was informed about the earth quake. Modi said he had ordered entire district and taluka administration to join the rescue and relief work.

Modi said the state government and local administration is for the people and ready to help the people in all possible ways. He said thanks to alertness of administration and cooperation of villagers, there’s no lose of life.

Minister of state Kanubhai Balala, Parliamentary Secretary Lavjibhai Rajani, district collector Ashutosh Parmar, and District development officer and district police chief joined the Chief Minister’s visit.

According to state administration, 21 persons are injured in yesterday night’s earthquake of 5.3 intensity on richter scale. There are aftershocks observed today.
