Ahmedabad police rescue 34 calves, 4 butchers on remand

Ahmedabad Police today raided a house in Muslim dominated Shahpur area and rescued 21 calves. City police also captured 13 more calves kept in truck in same area. All 34 calves are sent to panjarapol shelter. No person is arrested in this case so far.
Meanwhile local court in Ahmedabad today sent four butchers to police remand till Wednesday. They were arrested yesterday by city police in connection with Saturday’s incident in Juhapura in which police jeep was burnt by butchers and other local rioters after police conducted successful raid rescuing 12 calves kept in an open ground illegally for slaughter.
