GSPC to set up 50 new CNG stations through franchisee in Saurashtra:Minister Saurabh Patel

Gujarat government owned Gujarat Petroleum Gas Company(GSPC) will set up 50 new CNG filling stations in Saurashtra area through franchisee.
Givind the details on this development, minister of state for Energy, government of Gujarat, Shri Saurabhbhai Patel today said, “at present Saurashtra has 39, central Gujarat has 52 and South Gujarat has 29 CNG stations serving more than 65,000 vehicle owners.”
“Adding to this now Saurashtra will have more than 50 new CNG filling stations. Of them Rajkot will have more than 6 CNG stations, Rajkot district will have more than 24 and Morbi and Surendranagar will have 10 CNG stations each.” Patel further said.
Advertisements inviting proposals for franchisee will be released soon according to Shri Patel.
Shri Patel also added that GSPC will invest more than Rs 250 crore to set up CNG infrastructure in Rajkot and Surendranagar districts through CNG station equipments and steel distribution network connectivity.
It should be mentioned here that GSPC provides gas supply to 1100 commercial, 1400 industrial and more than 85000 home users across the state through gas-grid networks.
