Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Mori reached Khawda BSF helipad yesterday in the afternoon and straight away drove to Dattatreya mandir on Kalo dungar. It was found that Modi’s helicopter had not enough petrol. Therefore the helicopter went to Gandhidham-Kandla to fill the tank. Thanks to this, Modi had to travel between Khawda and Dhordo tent city by road. As Modi reached late at Dhordo tent city, he couldn’t watch the entire pogramme of BSF camels show. He couldn’t have a picture at sunset inside the rann.
Due to heavy rain in Kutch in past monsoon, the greater rann of Kutch had marshy surface. Many tourists faced tough time crossing such land to reach the white surface of Rann of Kutch. The stage of the programme also had to be shifted due to muddy surface of rann.
It was a time of lunar eclipse when cultural programmes were going on the stage amid white rann. Modi mentioned this in his speech and said this edition of Rann utsav was unique because the tourist could see both amavasya and poonam on one day.
In the morning on Sunday, before returning back to Gandhinagar, Shri Modi enjoyed hot air balloon ride which was introduced this time as one of the new attractions at Rann utsav. Shri Modi also interacted with few tourists and had a photo shoot with rising sun.
