Gujarat Congress today kicked off the second Sardar Sandesh Yatra from Gandhinagar district’s Mansa town.
All major Gujarat Congress leaders including the state party President Shri Arjun Modhwadia, former GPCC President and MLA Shri Siddharth Patel, leader of opposition Shri Shaktisinh Gohil among others were present on this occasion.
The yatra was launched from Vasania mahadev mandir in Gandhinagar district. Public meeting, attended by good number of party workers and people was held at Mansa. After death of sitting BJP MLA, the town of Mansa is going to witness an assembly by-election within next two-threee months.
Speaking in public meating, Vaghela promised insurance cover upto Rs 2 lakh for poor for treatment of any kind of illness if Congress comes to power in Gujarat.
Vaghela is using his permanently owned specially built vanity van as ‘rath’ for this yatra.
Vaghela’s Sardar Sandesh Yatra will reach central Gujarat’s Anand town on 13 January where other five yatras from other routes will arrive and meet in a public meeting.
Earlier on Monday, the first Sardar Sandesh Yatra led by minister of state in centre Shri Tushar Chaudhary was flagged off from Bardoli in south Gujarat. Total list of six yatras is presented below:
