Tourism pumped in crores of Rupees in border district, a 38-day long Kutch Rann Utsav 2011-12 concludes

A-38-day long Kutch Rann Utsav 2011-12 concluded yesterday with Ila Arun’s musical night at Jubilee ground in district headquarter Bhuj. Dhamal dance of Siddis of Bharuch and performances of various communities in dance and musical forms were part of the function which was attended by thousands of citizens of Bhuj.
According to minister of state Vasanbhai Ahir, the 38-day long tourism event has resulted into extra income of over Rs two and half crore for handicraft artists while throughout the year small hotels, taxi services, handicraft artists among others have earned Rs 20 crore extra income from tourism. Ahir pointed out that this year the number of tourists was double compare to previous year.
