CM announces Rs. 1900-cr development package for Bhavnagar

On the eve of the 63rd Republic Day, Chief Minister Narendra Modi announced development package of total Rs.1900 crore for Bhavnagr district with a view to accelerate the pace of development of Bhavnagar city and district.

Here is the list of announcements made by Chief Minister.

Bhavnagar city:

• Bhavnagar University will be renamed as Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of erstwhile King Krishnakumarsinhji.

• Gujarat Maritime Board will set up a ship building park at the cost of Rs.175 crore at Bhavanagar port.

• A new industrial estate of GIDC will be set up in 2300 hectares in Nava Madhiya.

• Victoria Park will be developed as attractive tourist spot.

• A modern gems and jewelry park will be set up on 15 acre land of the acquired land of New Jahangir Vakil Mill.

Bhavnagar District:

• Some 16 cities and 1176 villages will be covered under the 76 km.
Narmada-Mahi pipeline water supply scheme from Navada to Budhel
regions.

• Water supply schemes of Gariyadhar and Bhavnagar city (Rs.494 crore)

• Gutter and water facilities in six municipalities under Mukhya Mantri Swarnim Jyanti Shaheri Vikas Yojna and houses to the poor in Bhavnagar and Mahuva cities (Rs.215 crore)

• New power substations.

• Electricity connection to the farmers under Khushi Yojna.

• Provision of quality power supply for the coastal areas and improvement in power supply in five cities.

• Irrigation to 65,300 hectare land of 92 villages covering Vallabhipur-Botad and Limdi through Narmada branch canals.

• Road improvement (Rs.494 crore)

• 200 large check dams on different rivers (Rs.15 crore)

• Improvement in the jetty at Bhavnagar port, modernization of Alang port (Rs.85 crore)

• Rs. 30 crore for ITI up-gradation.

• Latest farming methods and facilities to farmers with a view to support farmers’ hard work (RS. 156 crore)

• Development schemes for village panchayats (Rs. 21.50 crore)

• Rs. 24.50 crore for public service centres of talukas and for various development works in villages.

• Improved health services.

• A Rs. 223 crore scheme for providing irrigation in 8,600 hectare land through the Narmada Branch Canal covering Goma-Sukhbhadar dam of
Botad and Krishnasagar lake.

• Rupees one crore for Bhavnagar municipal corporation, rupees one crore combining for all municipalities and rupees one crore combining for all district panchayats.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also visited Mahuva MLA Dr. Kanubhai Kalsariya, who receiving treatment in a hospital in Bhavnagar on being injured in a road accident. The Chief Minister conveyed wishes for the speedy recovery to Dr.Kalsariya.

Chief Minister also paid courtesy visit to the head of erstwhile royal family of Bhavnagar Vijarajsinhji at his residence Nilambag palace.

During his visit, Chief Minister took round of Gaushala maintained by the royal family.

Vijayrajsinhji praised the Chief Minister’s dynamic leadership for the fast-paced development of Gujarat.
