Modi active in back room uniting CMs against NCTC:Report

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is active in back room uniting the Chief Ministers against centre on centre’s NCTC move, said a leading news TV channel.
“Chief Minister Narendra Modi is playing a crucial role in back room uniting the Chief Ministers against centre’s move to bring in NCTC dubbing it as an attack on country’s federal structure,” said editor of an English news channel today morning.
National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) is recently approved anti-terror intelligence hub which is to come up in Delhi.UPA member West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has opposed such move. Also the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Bihar are strongly opposing it, raising concerns that the powers given to the proposed National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) would infringe on the federal structure and the rights of state governments. Proposed NCTC will integrate and analyze inputs on terror threats in India. Central government agencies will get power under this new body to make arrests or searches in terror-related cases. The agency will not need to seek permission from state governments before launching any operation.
