Mumbai based Kutchi jains present Rs 51 lakh cheque to CM for ‘statue of unity’ project

A delegation of Mumbai’s Jain community on Tuesday called on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi under the leadership of BJP MLA Jayantibhai Bhanushali, and presented Rs 51 lakh cheque as their contribution to the ‘statue of unity’ project under which world’s tallest statue of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is to be constructed and installed as per the state government’s plan on an island in Narmada river, few distance away from Narmada dam.
A group of Jain community members were originally from Kutch’s Rapar area’s Suvai village. They are settled in Mumbai. They honored Chief Minister Narendra Modi with shawl.
