Jain monk ends his “fast unto-death” in Surat

Jain monk Maitriprabhasagarji who was on fast for last three days demanding govt action against illegal slaughter houses today ended his agitation at 2.30 pm.
Maitriprabhasagarji was on fast with several demands. One of the demands was to disprove expansion and modernization of existing slaughter houses. Other demand was about putting ban on sale of non-veg near religious places and in pilgrim towns.
After five days of fast, the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner promised the Jain monk on fast to take action against illegal slaughter houses. In response to this promise, Maitriprabhasagar ended his fast.
