Patel rap: Siddharth and Narhari talk to state police chief
June 06, 2012
Ahmedabad, 6 June 2012
Gujarat Congress leader Siddharth Patel and Narhari Amin today in a statement said that they have contacted state Home Secretary Varesh Sinha and state DGP Chittranjan Singh on phone and informed them that on direct order of state ministers, the Police and RTO officers should not stop the vehicles carrying participants of Congress party’s Patel rally in Mehsana on 8 June.
The statement of Patel and Amin further said that the Home Secretary promised to give necessary directions to police officials in this regard.
Patel and Amin in their media statement made an allegation that for last four-five days the minister, MLAs and BJP workers of north Gujarat are trying for failure of Patel sammelan of Gujarat Congress.
If state government of government machinery would stop luxury buses of private vehicles, there will be reactions, Patel and Amin said.
It should be mentioned that Gujarat Congress has organized Patidar Gaurav Mahasammelan on 8 June 2012 at 5.00 pm at Municipal ground in Mehsana for Patidar people of north Gujarat’s Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Patan and Banaskantha district.
Looking at today’s statement issued by Patel and Amin it seems, if the rally fails to attract desired number of people, such failure would be attributed to police and RTO actions. However if the rally tastes success, they will take credit.
