Gujrat has a very good infrastructure and is the leader in the process industries
Be il, petroleum ,petrochemical , chemical ,textile and the Amul story is well known
Tamilnadu is not very far behind in the above mentioned industries ,
It is also a hub for the auto industries , IT and ITES ,leather ,medical tourism ,
educational institutes.electronic components manufacturing,textile industry,
and the list goes on .It has taken Tamilnadu decades to reach this level and
Gujrat has a lot of catching up to do .
Incidentally , Tamilnadu will be adding 4000 MW from new power generation
within the next one year.

S SHAH -GLAD TO READ YOUR ARTICLE COMPARING GUJRAT WITH TAMILNADU

By: Shankaran

<guid

I like the way you have written the article with comparisons of the two best performing states in India. The only difference between the 2 states is coruption. In Gujarat, Coruption is almost Nil, whreas in Tamilandu, it was very peak during DMK Regime. Even though Tamilnadu is developing very fast, only because of Extreme Technical skills of the people. In Tamilnadu Engineering Intake is roughly Evey Year 2.5 lakhs Students, whereas in Gujarat it is only 45,000 students. Even though Karunanidhi is corupted he brought indistries like anything you can;t imagine in the last 5 years. Nokia invested nearly 3500 crores and giving employment to 10,000 people. Further Ford, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, BMW,Renault Nissan,Ashok leyland, Michelin, Saint Gobain, Apollo Tyres, MRF, TVS Group - Consists of 25 companies and giving employment to rougly 35,000 permanent staffs, Amalagamations Group, TI Murugappa Group and so on. The list is endless. Apart from that massive employment in software - Around 6 to 7 Lakhs - from 1200 companies. All the bigwigs TCS,INFOSYS,COGNIZANT, MAHINDRA SATYAM, HCL, POLARIS, MIND TREE, PAYPAL, VERIZON and again the list is endless. Further L&T ECC is playing major role in all projects in Tamilnadu and giving employment to lakhs of people.

Dear Mr.Somindu,

I like the way you have written the article with comparisons of the two best performing states in India. Gujarat installed power cap Total 17599 MW (Dec 2011) of which 2197 MW from other sources (wind + solar etc).
Compare this to
Bihar installed power cap Total 1923 MW (Dec 2011) of which 69 MW from other sources (wind + solar etc).
UP installed power cap Total 12415 MW (Dec 2011) of which 637 MW from other sources (wind + solar etc).
Entire Pakistan production 11511 (with short fall of 6423).
Judge for yourself where is Development and Mismanagement.

Some interesting POWER facts<br

Could not stop laughing at clever use of “Managing Environment”. Look forward to the next one. Hope it will be equally intriguing. (Pls ignore previous comment)

I think end of License Raj in India is just a myth. It still exists, just its form and severity is changed.
PROCESS industry historically has been changing its location wherever cheap labour is available. It is easy to replace with big capital unlike Knowledge based/DISCRETE industry.
Gujarat traditionally has very little investment in R & D. Once again, Gujarati mindset plays a big role here.

Interesting comparison of two states.

I think end of License Raj in India is just a myth.
