Gujarat contributes 52,950 votes to President election which is 4.81% of total votes

The state of Gujarat contributes 52, 950 votes to President’s election, which is 4.81% of India’s total 10,98,882 votes. While the election is scheduled to take place on 19th of July, here are some Gujarat related figures of vote arithmetic.
All 182 MLAs of Gujarat contribute 26,754 votes(each MLA 147 votes). All 26 Lok Sabha MPs elected from Gujarat have 18,408 votes, 11 Rajya Sabha MPs elected from the state have 7788 votes.
Gujarat had population of 2.66 crore people in 1971, and the vote arithmetic has been fixed as per that figure.
In Gujarat, BJP has 121 MLAs and 23 MPs. Therefore BJP has 34,071 votes(17787 through MLAs and 16284 through MPs). Nationally, BJP has 2,23,885 votes, therefore Gujarat’s contribution is 15.21% to it.
Congress in Gujarat has 56 MLAs(9912 votes) and 14 MPs(8232 votes) who totally contribute 18,144 votes. This is 5.50% of Congress party’s total 3,30,405 votes nationally.
Two MLAs of NCP, one JD(U) and one independent MLA have 735 votes.
The total voting strength of Gujarat is 52,950 therefore.
