Congress’s gathering against industry in Bhadreshwar

Gujarat Congress has organized a public meeting today at Bhadreshwar in Kutch against ongoing industrialization in district. Gujarat Congress’s central in-charge Mohan Prakash, Gujarat Congress president Arjun Modhwadia, former Finance minister Sanat Mehta, rebel BJP MLA Dr. Kanubhai Kalsaria, district Congress president VK Humbal are to participate in this public meeting at 10.00 am on Sunday.
The event has been organized by Mundra Taluka Panchayat, Mundra Taluka Congress Samiti, Bhadreshwar Gram Panchayat and others.
In recent past Bhadreshwar has witnessed a movement of Congress-led fishermen against 300 MW (2×150 MW) OPG thermal power plant.
Bhadrshwar is part of Mundra-Mandvi assembly seat. Chief Minister Narendra Modi has visited this seat area twice in recent past. Congress is now exploring possibility of victory on this seat through fishermen and 42,000 Muslims. The seat has 1,82,000 voters, of them 42,000 are reportedly Muslims, 28,000 Kshatriya, 22,000 Harijam and 18,000 Gadhavis.
