Pennsylvania based 39-year-old NRI Gujarati Ghanshyambhai “Gary” Patel is in trouble for a strage reason.
A former Subway employee Ghanshyambhai was charged with indecent exposure after he allegedly exposed his penis under a cape while getting a haircut at the Great Clips on Shoemaker Road, according to police.
Ghanshyambhai “Gary” Patel, 39, of 2220 Dennis Court, Bensalem, was allegedly observed “shaking” under the cape by witnesses while he was getting his haircut on June 5. According to the arrest paperwork filed by Pottstown Detective Heather Long, an employee of Great Clips who was cutting Patel’s hair removed the cape to see what was causing Patel to “shake” and “saw his hands in his were in his lap and his penis was exposed.”
Patel was with another man at the time he walked into the Great Clips to get a haircut, and he and the other man both told witnesses at the Great Clips that they worked at the Subway in Upland Square, Long indicated in the arrest affidavit. Additionally, Patel was wearing a “Subway” T-shirt at the time he allegedly exposed his genitals.
Patel was apparently not at the Great Clips when police responded there to take the report around 5 p.m. June 5. However, court papers indicate, police followed up their investigation by responding to the Subway in Upland Square on June 14 where they observed Patel working. Police note in the arrest affidavit that “Gary” was identified as Patel, and “without questioning,” Patel said he was at the Great Clips. Additionally, witnesses were able to identify Patel in a photo lineup, police said.
Patel was charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned by District Judge Edward Kropp Sr., who set his bail at $50,000 cash on June 15. However, District Judge Scott T. Palladino, who Patel is scheduled to have his preliminary hearing before on July 2 at 9:30 a.m., changed the bail to $50,000, non-monetary.
