“Gujarat BJP can’t take action against Keshubhai Patel” (Video)

Gandhinagar, 30 June 2012

MahaGujarat Janata Party leader and Keshubhai Patel loyalist Gordhan Zadafia today said that Gujarat BJP has no power to take action against Keshubhai Patel.

“Gujarat BJP has no power to take action against Keshubhai. It is party’s central unit that can take any action against Keshubhai because Keshubhai is BJP’s national executive member. Only parliamentary board of BJP can take action against him,” Gordhanbhai said.

Zadafia further said that Keshubhai and others have decided today to go directly to the people, and therefore whether they remain in party or not, it makes no difference to them.

“When they say, they are going to appeal people to join the third front, it is for BJP to think(what BJP wants to do),” Zadafia further added.

“Keshubhai will tour Gujarat from next week for the people of Gujarat and appeal them that he is the leader who ruled the state and provided trusted leadership,” Zadafia said adding that some events will be held under BJP leader Kashiram Rana’s leadership and at some place under former BJP Chief Minister Suresh Mehta’s leadership.

Zadafia said that Keshubhai was approached over a phone call to become a member of BJP, but Keshubhai has refused to renew his party membership. “Similarly Kashiram Rana has also denied to renew party’s membership,” he added.

When asked specifically about membership issue of Keshubhai and Kashiram, Zadafia replied, “BJP’s general membership is permanent, but active membership is renewed at interval of every three years. Keshubhai and Kashiram are not active members, but they have been permanent member, therefore technically they are BJP member, but when they were approached for renewal of their membership in the party, they refused.”

“We have to fight this system, and it is BJP that runs the system here in the state, therefore it has been decided that under leadership of Keshubhai, we will fight against this system,” he added.
