July 14, 2012
Rajkot, 14 July 2012
The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has imposed the alternate day water cut system in the city with effect from July 16.
Rajkot gets daily 9 crore liter Narmada water supply at present but with all local major reservoirs about to hit rock bottom, the cut is declared.
The cut is indefinite and will remain in effect till the reservoirs get adequate fresh inflow to maintain the daily 20 minute water supply.
The decision was taken after the city engineers made an assessment of the water requirement.
Rajkot city had lastly witnessed alternate day supply for nearly two months in year 2009.
