Junagadh gets Narmada water supply for the first time

Since last Monday, there has been a minor water supply cut implemented in Junagadh due to poor monsoon. Water is supplied for 40 minutes once in period of every three days.
In such situation, the city has been added to Narmada water supply map for the first time, and daily 50 lakh liter Narmada water is being supplied to the city on the demand made by local BJP MLA Mahendra Mashru.
Daily 50 lah liter Narmada water is being added to Anandpur dam, from where it will be taken to Uparkot based reservoir through pipe line.
Junagadh needs one crore liter water per day. At present 60 lakh liter water is supplied through Hasnapur dam while 20 lakh liter is supplied through Bore wells. Thanks to Narmada water supply, the situation will improve.
According to local MLA Shri Mashru, Uparkot reservoir will be full of water in 15 days.
It should be mentioned that six out of total eight reservoirs are completely empty, while two are partially full.
