Early this week, Gujarat Congress leaders made an announcement that when they come to power in the state they will provide cheaper houses to homeless women in price range of Rs 70,000 to Rs 1,00,000.
While the assembly elections are less than six months away, the Gujarat Congress today started distribution of application forms for cheap houses in the poor people dominated areas of Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Rajkot.
While in Ahmedabad there was a traffic jam for two hours, in Rajkot and Vadodara there was a mad rush of women to take the forms.
Congress leaders asked the women that today was the first day of form distribution, but the distribution is going to continue in future too.
It should be mentioned that ahead of the 2007 Gujarat assembly election, the Gujarat Congress had promised free color TVs to poor people if elected to power. However such application form system was not put in practice for color TVs. This time, Congress is apparently trying to create a buzz around its offer. Congress is attempting to align the voters through distribution of forms for a scheme that will see the light of the day only if party is elected to power in Gujarat.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi while speaking at a gathering of women in Gandhinagar today said that ahead of the election some ‘ek ka teen’ players have come out with fake promises and they have started fooling the women. They are in power in neighboring Selvas, Daman and Diu and other states and first they should implement such schemes there.

This is just an election gimmick.They are trying to make people believe and trying to create an impression that they are going to win next election.People should not fall into this trap.Alert citizens should question Congress that, from where you will get money to give ‘cheap’houses.Politics at its low.Congress should win the hearts of people by way of development not by offering free lunches!!
Stupid it seems- people can check what size of house they want but there is no price listed next to it. so how do people determine what size they want. Ironic to see that people who don’t have home – are asked for their Email Address!!
How on earth anyone can do that..I think this is completely illegitimate and should drag them to the court and held accountable for such crime.. should sentenced jail term to everyone who is involved.
I am really looking forward to know if Govt of Gujarat is taking any action or not.

Hope people of Gujarat do not fall for cheap tricks of Congress party. Any state that is doing well today is non-Congress ruled or BJP/NDA ruled and Gujarat is number one state in India because of Sri Narendra Modi. Please elect Namo with bigger majority this time.
This is a new tikdam to get money . Congress got lot of Money from DDA ( Delhi Development Authority) Flats under commonwealth Games and Adarsh Scam.
Now they have eyed on Gujarat and get the money from poor people to feed rich policians . At the end of day, allotyted homes will be sold at big premium and homeless will be homeless only.
