Chief Minister Narnendra Modi is today on a visit to three of the drought affected districts of north Gujarat to review the relief measures with district administrations. Shri Modi started his tour with a review meeting in Palanpur in the morning to review the relief measures undertaken for the Banaskantha district.
-Acchat should be converted into Avsar (let’s convert scarcity into an opportunity).
-Rather than following the same old types of relief works, the focus this time should be on initiating new kinds of model relief works.
-Khet talavdi (farm side water conservation) and check dams will be further excavated to enable them to contain more water. Such works to be covered under MNREGA.
-Speedier process for power connection in the areas where dark zone has been lifted.
