Gujarat Congress extends ‘Ghar nu Ghar’ to villages, declares 100 vaar plot, 1 lakh loan scheme for homeless rural families

As DeshGujarat told you yesterday, the Gujarat Congress today declared 100 yard plot and Rs 1 lakh loan for construction of 30 square meter house scheme if elected to power. The announcement was made by Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia, Leader of opposition Shaktisinh Gohil and Campaign committee head Shankersinh Vaghela in a press conference held in Ahmedabad.

Main features of the announcement made today:

-If elected to power, the Congress party will give 100 yard plot to common class women applicants in rural area. Also an easy installment loan will be provided upto Rs 1 lakh to build 30 square meter house on that plot.

-Roads, water, gutter, kinder garden and public plot will be developed in given plot areas.

-A special arrangement will be made with HUDCO bank, LIC and other institutions for construction of 30 square meter houses upto Rs 1 lakh. If there’s shortage of land in some village, the land will be purchased, but 100 vaar plot will be given.

-The scheme will cover not only the below poverty line(BPL) people, but all homeless families.

-According to 2011 census, there are 18,80,000 homeless people in Gujarat. There are 19,19,792 kachcha brick houses, 30,959 wooden houses. 31 lakh families live in single room houses. 3,34,479 families live in rented house. When parents and their adult children live together, they need house.

-In rural areas, there are around 60 lakh farm labors who are homeless. If elected to power, Congress party assures 15 lakh houses for them to change their lives.

-The Congress government in centre extends additional assistance of Rs 10,000 in Indira Awas scheme in view of price rise. But the BJP government in Gujarat has stopped giving Rs 8,500 contribution in this scheme. If elected, the Congress party will contribute Rs 15,000.

-Due to the rural plot and housing scheme, the village people will stay in village only. This will prevent further burden on city areas, and rural employment will grow.
