12 injured in communal clash in Dahemi village of central Gujarat

The immersion procession of Lord Ganesh idol turned violent today at central Gujarat’s Dahemi village in Anand district. At least 12 persons were injured in stone-pelting and two shops, a Maruti van, a Piaggio car, four motorcycles and two cycles were torched in the flare-up. The incident of violence occurred after plastic bags filled with gulal (colour) fell on worship place of Muslim community. After an initial verbal duel, stone pelting and attacks on vehicles started. The situation has been taken in control.
