Ahmedabad, 24 November 2012
Though Congress has allotted the Limbayat assembly seat (Surat) to Nationalist Congress Party(NCP), today Congress party’s candidate Suresh Sonwane filed a nomination form for candidature on this seat and claimed that senior Congress party leaders had directed him to do so. On the other side NCP’s candidate also filed a nomination form from the same seat. If this situation continues beyond the final date of withdrawal of nomination forms, the Congress-NCP alliance will effectively be limited to only 8 seats.
