Gun-toting MP Vitthal Radadia now contesting assembly poll!

Ahmedabad, 24 November 2012
Congress MP from Porbandar Vitthal Radadiya, under attack from all quarters for threatening toll booth operators with a gun, is now Gujarat Congress’s candidate for assembly polls.
Radadiya today filed nomination form to contest from Dhoraji assembly seat. His son is contesting from Jetpur.
Radadia resigned from Dhoraji assembly seat, to become Lok Sabha member from Porbandar seat in 2009. This had caused a by-election on Dhoraji assembly seat which was contested and won by Radadia’s son.
Now Radadia is again fighting the assembly poll from Dhoraji, while his son has been allotted another seat.
If Radadia wins, he may resign from Lok Sabha inviting another by-poll.
Radadia is not the only MP contesting assembly poll. Two more Congress MPs – Kunvarji Bavalia and Soma Ganda Patel are also contesting assembly polls. Interestingly Kunvarji Bavalia was also MLA, but resigned to go to the Lok Sabha in 2009. But he now wants to come back to the assembly now.
Author’s note:
Assembly to Lok Sabha, and Lok Sabha to Assembly – is that a joke? Congress party has no other candidates? Why same people fight every poll? What about the unnecessary by-elections?
