The seats that BJP couldn’t win

Here are the seats that BJP couldn’t win in 2012 elections.

BJP has lost Kutch’s Abdasa seat. This seat was with party in 2007 elections. Congress’s Chhabilbhai Patel has won this seat with margin of 7613 votes. Abadasa has interesting history of not reelecting a sitting MLA. BJP’s Jayanti Banushali was sitting MLA. Bhanushali is Kutch district BJP President too. Abadasa seat has good number of Kshatriya and Muslim voters and it is understood that they voted for Congress in large number. The third candidate of GPP got 19631 votes and proved spoiler. Congress’s Chhabilbhai was earlier elected from Mandvi. The result of this seat shows that the land next to Sir Creek has not voted for BJP convincingly.

BJP has lost Amreli seat where Congress’s Paresh Dhanani defeated Agriculture Minister Dileep Sanghani by margin of 29893 votes. Dhanani is young and he has defeated Purushottam Rupala in Amreli in past. Dhanani behaved on assembly floor in worst manner when he was MLA in past. It has to be seen whether he has grown up now or not.

Congress’s Amit Chavda wins Anklav seat by margin of 30319 votes.

Congress’s Mansinh Chauhan wins Balasinor seat by margin of 17171 votes.

North Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district’s Bayad seat has been captured by Congress candidate Mahendrasinh Vaghela by margin of 35923 votes. Mahendrasinh is son of former Gujarat Chief Minister and Congress party leader Shankersinh Vaghela.

Congress’s Anil Joshiara has retained Bhiloda seat by margin of 31543 votes.

Congress’s Rajendrasinh Parmar wins Borsad seat in central Gujarat by margin of 21034 votes. This seat was in past represented by Madhavsinh Solanki and his son Bharatsinh.

Congress’s Mohansinh Rathwa has again won tribal dominated Chhota Udaipur seat in central Gujarat’s Vadodara district by margin of 2305 votes.

Congress’s Vajesingbhai Panada wins tribal Dahod seat by margin of 39548 votes.

In Ahmedabad, Congress’s sitting MP Shailesh Parmar wins Danilimda seat(reserved for SC) by margin of 14301 votes.

Congress’s Kantibhai Kharadi wins north Gujarat’s Banaskantha district’s Danta seat by margin of 26990 votes. This seat has history of Congress victories. However in the last byelection, BJP candidate Vasant Bhatol was victorious.

Ahmedabad city’s Muslim dominated Dariapur seat has been captured by sitting MLA Gyasuddin Shekh by margin of 2621 votes. He has defeated former minister Bharat Barot.

Congress has won Thakor community dominated Dehgam seat. Party candidate Rathod Kaminiba wins by margin of 2297 votes.

Congress’s Joitabhai Patel wins Dhanera seat wby 30291 votes margin.

In tribal Dharampur, Congress’s Ishwarbhai Patel has been victorious by margin of 15298 votes.

At Saurashtra’s Amreli district’s Dhari, Gujarat Parivartan Party’s Nalinbhai Kotadia has been victorious by margin of 1575 votes.

Saurashtra’s Dhoraji seat has been captured by Porbandar Congress MP Vitthal Radadia. If Radadia choses to continue with assembly representation, he will have to leave the Lok Sabha seat. Arjun Modhadia may fight Porbandar Lok Sabha seat then.

Tribal Garbada seat in Dahod district has elected Chandrikaben Bariya again by margin of 35774 votes. Bariya was the only woman MLA of Congress.

Congress’s CK Raulji wins Godhra seat by margin of 2868 votes.

In Himmatnagar, Congress party’s Rajendrasinh Chavda defeated minister of state for Home Shri Praful Patel by margin of 12356 votes.

At Jamnagar North, Congress’s Dharmendrasinh Jadeja has been victorious by margin of 9448 votes.

In Jamnagar Rural seat, Congress’s Raghavjibhai Patel has defeated Gujarat BJP President RC Faldu by 3304 votes. Faldu had to vacate his well nurtured Kalavad seat due to delimitation.

Congress has again won Jasdan seat in Rajkot district. This seat was never won by BJP, but in last bypoll BJP registered its victory. However Congress’s Bholabhai Gohel has won the seat now by margin of 10847 votes.

In Jetpur, Congress MP’s son Jayeshbhai Radadia wins by margin of 18033 votes. His rival candidate Jashuben Korat is widow of late BJP MLA Savjibhai Korat.

On Pavi Jetpur seat, BJP’s Jayantibhai Rathwa has been victorious by margin of 4273 votes.

Janata Dal United candidate Chhotubhai Vasava wins Jhagadia seat by margin of 13304 votes.

Miteshbhai Garasiya of Congress wins tribal dominated Jhalod seat by margin of 40073 votes.

In north Gujarat’s Kadi, Congress’s Rameshbhai Chavada defeated Gujarati actor and BJP candidate Hitu Kanodia by margin of 1217 votes.

In north Gujarat’s Kalol Congress party candidate Baldevji Thakor wins by margin of only 343 votes.

In north Gujarat’s Kankrej Congress candidate Dharshibhai Khanpura defeated rival BJP candidate by margin of only 600 votes.

At Kapadvanj, former Chief Minister and Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela has been victorious by margin of 6597 votes.

In tribal Kaprada in south Gujarat, Congress party’s Jitubhai Chaudhary wins by margin of 18685 votes.

In Khedbrahma, seating MLA Ashvin Kotal is again a winner. He has defeated rival BJP candidate by margin of 50,137 votes. Tribal dominated Khedbrahma is located in Sabarkantha district of north Gujarat.

At Kutiyana in coastal Porbandar district, NCP’s Kandhal Jadeja(son of Santokben Jadeja and Sarman Munja) wins by margin of 18474 votes.

Congress’s Bavkubhai Undhad has again won Amreli district’s Lathi seat by margin of 2764 votes.

Congress MP of Surendranagar district Somabhai Patel wins Limbdi seat by margin of only 1561 votes. A Koli community leader, Soma Patel has defeated junior minister Kiritsinh Rana here.

Congress’s Heerabhai Patel won Lunawada seat by margin of 3701 votes.

In Mahudha, sitting MLA Natvarsinh Thakor again registered his victory by margin of 13230 votes.

In cotton and dark zone belt Manavadar in Saurashta, Congress’s Jawahar Chavda is victorious again by margin of 4402 votes.

In Mandvi, Congress’s Parbhubhai Vasava wins by margin of 24394 votes.

In Mansa, Congress’s Amit Chaudhary wins by 8028 votes.

Mehmedabad has elected Congress man Gautambhai Chauhan by 4181 votes margin.

In north Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district’s Modasa, Congress’s Rajendrasinh Thakor wins by margin of 22858 votes.

In tribal Morva Hadaf, Congress’s Savitaben Khant wins by 11289 votes. Woman MLA.

Congress’s Maheshkumar Patel wins Palanpur defeating sitting BJP MLA by margin of 5284 votes.

In Saurashtra’s Palitana, Congress’s Pravinbhai Rathod wins by 14325 votes.

In Petlad, Congress’s sitting MLA Niranjan Patel is victorious again by margin of 12192 votes.

At Prantij, Congress’s Mahendrasinh Baraiya wins defeating BJP minister Jaysinh Chauhan by 7014 votes.

In Rajkot East in Saurashtra, Congress’s rich candidate Indranil Rajguru wins by 4272 votes. He defeated Jan Sangh leader Chimanbhai Shukla’s son Kashyap.

Congress’s Karamsibhai Patel is winner on Sanand seat by 4148 margin.

In tribal Sankheda, Congress’s Dhirubhai Bhil is winner by 1452 votes.

Congress has won tribal dominated Santrampur seat. Damor Gendalbhai is winner. Margin 25654 votes.

In Savli, independent rebel BJP candidate Ketan Inamdar is winner by 20319 votes. He may join BJP back.

At Siddhpur, the richest candidate of Gujarat Balvantsinh has again won the seat defeating sitting MLA and minister Jaynarayan Vyas by 25824 votes.

Congress’s Punambhai Parmar wins central Gujaat’s Sojitra seat by 162 votes.

At Somnath, Congress’s Jasabhai Barad is winner. Margin is 2096.

In Talala, Congress’s Jashubhai Barad is winner by 1478 votes margin.

Congress’s sitting MLA Ramsinh Parmar wins Thasra seat by margin of 5500 votes.

NCP’s Jayant Boskey wins Umreth seat by 1394 votes.

In Una, Congrress’s Punjabha Vansh is again a winner. Margin 7507 votes.

At Vadgam, state minister Fakirbhai Vaghela lost the poll by 21839 votes. Congress’s Manilal Vaghela is winner.

Congress’s Chhanabhai Chaudhari wins tribal Vansda seat in south Gujarat by 25616 margin.

In Vijapur, Congress’s Prahladbhai Patel is winner by 8759 margin. Congress has snatched this seat from BJP.

In Viramgam, Tejashreeben is winner. Margin 16983.

GPP’s Keshubhai Patel wins Visavdar seat by margin of 42186 votes.

Only Christian MLA Punabhai Gamit is winner again on Vyara seat by margin of 13556 votes.

Congress’s Pirzada Mahmadjavid is again winner on Wankaner seat near Rajkot in Saurashtra. His victory margin is 5311 votes.
