Soon after submitting his resignation, Congress leader Vitthal Radadia in his brief talk to media persons said that Gujarat Chief Minister’s possible candidature for the post of Prime Minister was one of the reasons to join BJP under his leadership.
Radadia said: I have resigned from Congress party today with my son, especially because year 2014 is going to witness general elections of Lok Sabha and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is possibly going to contest as PM candidate. Gujarat’s development and autocracy in Congress are other factors responsible for joining BJP under Modi’s leadership.
Radaia added, “I don’t take decisions under pressure and I do my politics as per my wish. I have joined BJP due to its ‘niti’.”
When asked about his wish to become minister, Radadia said: There’s no question about joining or not joining ministry. I want to do politics peacefully. I am joining BJP unconditionally.”
In reply to a question Radadia said, there had been no attempt to convince him from Congress party.
Radadia said his dominance in cooperative sector will be beneficial for BJP.
On whether he would contest assembly election from Dhoraji/Jetpur or Lok Sabha by-poll from Porbandar Radadia replied: Whether I would fight Lok Sabha polls or Assembly polls will be decided by my party which is BJP.
